Paul Smith: ''I give classics just a little kick''

Paul Smith once said ''I give classics just a little kick''... and as I was thoroughly scanning my Marie Claire RUNWAY magazine (first edition, seriously check it out... it's incredible), I realised how true Smith was. Especially in his Spring/Summer 2012 collection which stomped down the catwalk a few weeks ago.
There is something so comforting about Paul Smith. His work is just so.... down to earth. There isn't many ways which you could disprove of his tailored blazers, or his slim chinos.
Here are a few pictures from Paul Smith's Spring/ Summer 2012 collection

Paul Smith is incredible influential from some sort of branch of his simplicity. Smith shows us how to wear a blazer without looking like we work at an airport, shows us how to wear a skirt who's hem is places just under the knee without looking like our Grannies, how to wear a shirt without looking like our Granddads, and how to wear a hat without looking like... a complete fool.
Notice the colours, mixing the pale pink, bright yeallow and subtle brown with a shimmery grey BUT NOT SILVER.

Those of us who can't pull off the 'straight off of the runway'' look can find a confidence in Smith. Noticing the two images about on the right. Notice the rich colours with the simple and plain shirts which are still flattering and light.... Oh Paul, how do you do it?
